The authority of Scripture
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible and authoritative Word of God. Scripture is the final standard for faith, doctrine, conduct and spiritual formation. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) · (2 Peter 1:20-21)
Theological foundation
Truth before movement.
Sons of Scripture holds nine doctrinal articles, each cited to Scripture below: the authority of the Bible, the triune God, the person and work of Jesus Christ, salvation by grace through faith alone, the Holy Spirit, the Church, sanctification, the mission, and the return of Christ. They are published in full so a man knows what he is walking into.
Sons of Scripture calls men to maturity, truth and obedience to Jesus Christ through the absolute authority of God's Word. Our beliefs are rooted in historic orthodox Christianity and shaped by Scripture.
What we hold
The nine articles
Each one is cited to Scripture, so a man can check it rather than take our word for it.
The triune God
We believe in one God, eternally existing in three co-equal persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is infinitely holy, sovereign, eternal and perfect in love, justice and truth. (Matthew 28:19) · (2 Corinthians 13:14)
Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, made full atonement for sin, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven and will return in glory. (John 1:1,14) · (Philippians 2:5-11)
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone. Salvation is the sovereign gift of God, received through repentance and faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9) · (Titus 3:5)
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts, regenerates, indwells, seals and empowers followers of Christ for holy living, effective witness, spiritual fruit and gifts that build the Body of Christ. (Galatians 5:22-23) · (Acts 1:8)
The Church
We believe the Church is the global Body of Christ, called to worship God, proclaim the gospel, make disciples, walk in holiness and demonstrate love, unity and truth in the world. (Ephesians 4:11-16) · (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Sanctification
We believe believers are called to ongoing transformation through Scripture, repentance, discipline and active obedience to Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 12:1-2) · (1 Thessalonians 4:3)
The mission
We believe every follower of Christ is called to live under His lordship and participate actively in His mission. Sons of Scripture encourages men to walk in truth, accountability, brotherhood and faithfulness. (Matthew 28:18-20) · (Colossians 3:23)
The return of Christ
We believe in the personal, visible and glorious return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, final judgment and the fulfillment of God's eternal kingdom in righteousness. (Revelation 22:20) · (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)
Closing commitment
While we value unity and charity within the broader Body of Christ, Sons of Scripture remains committed to biblical truth, spiritual accountability and faithfulness to the gospel revealed in Scripture.
Doctrine is not decoration. It is the foundation men stand on.
